Unlike the case with other fish living in Azys Lla's aetherochemical sludge, the mucous minnow will perish if exposed to the liquid for even a short period of time. Luckily for this wavekin, it is born covered in a viscous transparent barrier which not only protects the minnow, but also acts as a filter, allowing the wavekin to absorb waterborne algae.
