This large variety of trevally is given the name ronin for its tendency to journey the warm southern seas in solitude.

Its rugged facial features, scar-like stripe, and solitary swimming habits earned this fish the Hingan title of “ronin,” or “wandering warrior.” The fish does not seem to actively seek a master.
